This medication includes vitamin B12. It serves two unique purposes. Treatment for vitamin B12 shortage brought on by an absorption issue includes intramuscular injection in the event of Biermer's illness, Imerslund's disease, or stomach or intestinal ablation.

It is approved for the treatment of anaemia in strict vegans who have been following a vegan diet for more than 4 years (without consuming any meat, dairy products, eggs, or fish). In this situation, it will be given orally (vial- drinkable).
